The Local Community Integration Days is a new form of presential sessions designed to give the students of the Global Community MBA programme the opportunity to learn how to conduct business from different key hubs in the world (at the present time there are 15 cities around the world that include Los Angeles, London, Munich, Mumbai or Shanghai to name a few). At the same time they can to meet and strengthen their professional networks with local alumni and faculty from that city or geographic area.
On last 6-10 March at the meeting rooms of the Royal Auto Club in Pall Mall, London, both the presential part with classes from Prof. Antonio Sedán on Strategy and the Local Community Integration Days session took place. We gathered in a learning and networking activity forming a group of up to 30 students, faculty and distinguished guests speakers for the event.
These activities offered a unique blend of social networking, round-table discussion and debate on the issues most prevalent to business leaders in the region. The Integration Days bring together alumni and business experts with the idea of tempering attendee’s international vision and understanding with a regional perspective.
These days are structured on the following workshops and keynote talks:
DAY 1. DOING BUSSINESS LOCALLY: UNDERSTANDING KEY REGIONAL MARKETS
• Knowledge, culture and economy: how local communities shape business and deal-making.
• The role of the legal and political environment in the business world: understanding regional development and its impact in world competition and entrepreneurship.
• Spain as a platform for internationalization: experiences from key global players
DAY 2. ORGANIZATIONS AND COMPETITION: FROM GLOBAL TO LOCAL
• Key industries in the region: understanding their role in the development of business clusters and knowledge-intensive industries.
• Regional answers to global challenges: adapting global organizations to regional needs; experience from key global players.
In the next issues of IDEAS we shall report the activities at the following Local Integration Days in Madrid (8-11 May) and Moscow (30 May-2 June).
